Does this support fast charging from qualcom for my note 9?
Wired charging still offers faster charging speeds than wireless charging. The “Qualcomm Quick Charge” allows for very fast wired charging speeds. However, Unravel provides the fastest possible WIRELESS charging speeds (albeit still slower than the wired charging). What is unique about Unravel is that, by utilizing a 60W adapter, it can charge three 10W wireless charging devices simultaneously at the maximum speed. Whereas, other wireless chargers will slow down with more than one device (if they even have more than one wireless charging coil).

How do I wirelessly charge my AirPods as shown in some of your promo videos? I didn’t think the AirPods were wireless.
Apple announced in their fall 2017 product announcement that future iterations of the Airpods would have wireless charging built into the case. They have not released the product yet so our use of Airpods is based on their announcement (not what is currently on the market). However, we do plan on including offering wireless receiving pads with lightning ports (so you can turn any device into a wireless charging device).

What are the specs of the charger and power bank?
The charger is a 60W USB Type-C adapter (almost identical to the one that accompanies MacBooks).
The Power Bank is 20,000mAh and tailormade for Unravel (so it fits perfectly inside the three panels). In addition to a Type-C input (for charging the power bank), it also has a standard USB-A output (for charging devices with traditional wired charging) and pogo-pins for connecting to unravel wirelessly. So, simply set Unravel on top of the power bank to power it with the power bank – so you can charge three devices with no cords, cables or wires needed anywhere!

Can we use any Type C charger for this?
USB PD (power delivery) allows devices to optimize power flow (up to 100W). In order for the wireless charging coils to all charge at maximum power, Unravel requires a 60W adapter. However, if you are only using one pad, or if you are okay with longer charging times, then you can use Unravel with a lower power Type-C PD adapter (18W, 30W, 45W, etc.).
So yes, you can use another Type-C adapter for Unravel. However, we recommend using a 60W adapter, either ours or one from your MacBook, for optimal performance.

Can it be charged overnight? Does it have safety features as to prevent overcharging any phones when they’re at 100%? I would like the batteries to live as long as possible.
Charging with Unravel is just as safe for your phone as charging with a lightning USB cable, so feel free to leave your phone on all night (without adversely affecting the battery life). In fact, we think it’s safer because you won’t damage the lightning port because of frequent use.
Unravel’s Qi charging is no different than charging with the Apple-provided Lightning cable and adapter.
Unravel is designed to be safe for phones and protect against overheating. If any metal comes close to the coil it will automatically shut off. Our adapter also has all the most rigorous safety and quality certifications including CE/FCC, UL.

Does Unravel come with a Type-C PD charger?
Our base Unravel reward does not come with the Type-C PD charger. We have decided to sell this separately for two reasons:
A lot of people already have this charger at home (hey MacBook users, we’re looking at you!) This type of charger is expensive (Apple sells them for U$69). We wanted to make it optional to give you the opportunity to save some money.
Of course, if you don’t have a Type-C PD Charger, you can buy it in the Unravel + Charger reward or the Unravel Bundle reward.

Why does Unravel need a 60W charger to power it?
Unravel has three 10W wireless charge pads, which means it’s equipped to wirelessly fast-charge three devices at once. That’s a lot of power. A general rule of thumb for wireless charging pads is that the power input should be approximately twice that of the output
2 x (10W x 3) = 60W.
Why, you ask? If you really want to get into the weeds, keep reading…
Some wireless chargers claim to be 70-75% efficient but the truth is that they are all closer to 60-65% (we tested A LOT). In order to ensure the fastest possible charging, we went with a conservative 60%.
Cables result in power loss. You may have noticed that those long 2 meter cables charge your phone slower than a mini cable? That’s why. We found this to be about 4%.
The LED indicators also eat up a little bit power. Add another 1%.
For three 10W coils to each provide 100% 10W output simultaneously, then the following power input is required, 3*10W/60%/95%=52.6W.
So, Unravel requires 52.6W input. We went with a 60W charger (20V/3A). Now you know why we have such a nice charger.
Also, low-quality adapters and adapters that are required to work at, or above, full load can lead to overheating. By leaving a little extra wiggle room, we ensure optimum performance and safety.

Does Unravel come with a Type-C PD charger?
Our base Unravel reward does not come with the Type-C PD charger. We have decided to sell this separately for two reasons:
A lot of people already have this charger at home (hey MacBook users, we’re looking at you!) This type of charger is expensive (Apple sells them for U$69). We wanted to make it optional to give you the opportunity to save some money.
Of course, if you don’t have a Type-C PD Charger, you can buy it in the Unravel + Charger reward or the Unravel Bundle reward.

Why does Unravel need a 60W charger to power it?
Unravel has three 10W wireless charge pads, which means it’s equipped to wirelessly fast-charge three devices at once. That’s a lot of power. A general rule of thumb for wireless charging pads is that the power input should be approximately twice that of the output
2 x (10W x 3) = 60W.
Why, you ask? If you really want to get into the weeds, keep reading…
Some wireless chargers claim to be 70-75% efficient but the truth is that they are all closer to 60-65% (we tested A LOT). In order to ensure the fastest possible charging, we went with a conservative 60%.
Cables result in power loss. You may have noticed that those long 2 meter cables charge your phone much slower than a mini cable? That’s why. We found this to be about 4%.
The LED indicators also eat up a little bit power. Add another 1%.
For three 10W coils to each provide 100% 10W output simultaneously, then the following power input is required, 3*10W/60%/95%=52.6W.
So, Unravel requires 52.6W input. We went with a 60W charger (20V/3A). Now you know why we have such a nice charger.
Also, low-quality adapters and adapters that are required to work at, or above, full load can lead to overheating. By leaving a little extra wiggle room, we ensure optimum performance and safety.

Yes! They both use a 60W USB Type-C PD Charger!

How did you charge Apple Watch? Does this work with S1 and S2?How about S3 and S4?
Apple Watch S1 and S2 do not work with Qi wireless chargers. However, S3 and S4 do work with Unravel. In fact, through our research on wireless chargers, we found that S3 and S4 work on most higher-end wireless chargers that have multiple wireless charging coils. However, they do not typically work on one-coil wireless chargers. I’ll send a more in-depth update on the subject of Apple accessories soon!

Is it possible to use a normal USB-A to USB-C cable for this charger?
Unravel is built for use with Type-C PD adapters (which are not supported by USB-A ports). We do not recommend using USB-a to USB-c cables. Using unravel with anything less than a 60W PD charger will lead to less than optimal performance.

Does the power bank support QC2.0 for quick charge of Samsung phone through cable connection?
The USB-A on the power bank is a standard 5V 2.4A port. The Type-C PD output (that can charge MacBooks) and the pogo pins are the best features (imho).

What is the charging duration for the powerbank?
Using our Unravel 60W PD adapter, the 20,000mAh Unravel power bank charges in about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

What are the minimum specs of an adapter to use with this charger?
We recommend using Unravel with only PD adapters. If you are using all three pads we would recommend not going below a 45w adapter. If you are just using one pad only, or if you don’t mind slower charging, you could use an 18w (5V/3A 9V/2A/12V/1.5A).

Is there any chance of overheating by changing overnight/long continuous amounts of time? Any protection for that? What about protection for charging on all three wireless “pads” at the same time?
Heat is created while charging — both wirelessly and wired — but we have built our wireless charging pads to the highest quality standards. Therefore, the risk of overheating is no larger than if you were charging with your included lightning cable. In addition, if any metal comes close then it will automatically turn off so fear not.

Is this made out of plastic?
Yes, the current design is made from plastic that can withstand temperature up to 60 degrees Celsius without issue. This is the safest most durable material we have found so far. We are looking into other options for future models.

How many Watt to the Apple watch, and how long does it take to 0-100%?
An Apple watch battery is small – just over 200mAh. So, if an Apple watch could receive at the same rate as an iPhone X then, with a standard 5W 2.4A adapter, it would charge in less than 14 minutes. However, for safety and durability reasons, Apple restricts the rate at which the apple watch can receive power. So, regardless of the power of the charger and adapter, it will take about an hour and 40 minutes to fully charge an Apple watch from 0%.

Are you sure iWatch can be supported by your Qi charger ?
Apple does not officially say that v3 and v4 are compatible with Qi charging (but they are). We know this because Apple’s support states that Apple Watch Series 3+ will work with the AirPower: https://d.pr/free/i/rNBtkf and the AirPower (although never officially launched) was a Qi wireless charging station.
It seems that Apple Watch Series 3 will not work with most single coil Qi chargers, but does with multi-coil stations.
In any event, we’ve tested Unravel with Apple Watch Series 3 and it does work. Hope that helps!
